1. Watch your diet and load up on healthy food.
The high fast-food diet that many Americans are guilty of is one of the main contributors to the steady increase of deaths. In other words, Americans are willing to stick to a high fast-food diet despite its risks.
If you are serious about your health, it’s about time you start changing the way you eat and learn more about how to prevent heart disease. Try limiting your visits to fast food joints and try to eat healthy food at home more often, home-cooked meals may not always be healthy but it’s a much better choice compared to greasy burgers and oil-filled fries.
Try loading up on foods that are high on fiber and omega-3, this way you can help your body reduce total cholesterol levels and reverse whatever damage that has been inflicted on your body. Try to avoid oily food, especially those filled with pork, beef, or chicken fat for these are packed with unsaturated fat.
2. Exercise regularly.
Exercise does wonders for your body, not only does it keep you in shape but it increases the amount of good cholesterol or high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in the body. HDL is responsible for eliminating bad cholesterol from our system also known as low-density lipoprotein (LDL). It also decreases the deadly plaque laid down by LDL on the arterial walls of our blood vessels. Exercising at least thirty minutes a day is enough to keep our hearts and bodies in good shape.
3. Sleep well regularly.
Make sure you get an ample amount of sleep, 6-7 hours will do. But sleeping too much can also affect your health and not how to prevent heart disease from occurring. In addition, it would be most beneficial to sleep during the recommended times.
